Makernatta – Build cool stuff!

Makernatta
Chalmers Robotics are arranging Makernatta together with ETA, GBG Make, Mikrofabriken and GBG Queer Hackerspace.
We welcome hackers and makers to a locale in Redbergsplatsen where we will build stuff under 24 hours! I will be a lan-party feeling over the event, and good opportunity to get to know other makerspaces around Göteborg.
The ticket kosts 100SEK and goes to material for the event, like microcontrollers and LED’s.

Workshop Raspberry Pi, Part 2: Electronic

raspberry-pi-part-2-electronic
On Sunday the 13:th of November we will continue with electronics and Raspberry Pi at Chalmers Robotics.

Several workshops will show you how to setup and work with electronic components.
We will go through components such as buttons, LED’s, servos and relays.

The workshop is free.

Program:
12:00 – Intro
13:00 – Blinking LED
14:00 – Handle input
15:00 – Control heavier loads
16:00 – Position control with servo

Equipment that is required:
* Laptop
* Raspberry Pi (any model will do)
* Ethernet cable (to both laptop and RPi)
* Micro USB cable and 5V supply
* Know the MAC-address of your Raspberry Pi so we can find it easy (ifconfig)
* Preinstalled SD-card with Rasbian or equilient

There will be a few Raspberry Pi that you can borrow from Chalmers Robotics, but because the installation is personal it’s recommended that you bring your own.
Ethernet switches will be placed strategically around the locale.

Knowledge Requirements:
* Technical interest
* Terminal: Beginner
* Programming: Beginner
* Electronics: Beginner

If you feel to refresh, please have a look at the slides from the first workshop: http://crf.io/wiki/rpi

Food:
* At the dinner brake we will likely eat at one of the resturants around Gibraltargatan
* There’s also food, candy and soft drinks at Chalmers Robotics

Midsummer Madness 2016

Midsummer Madness 2016
Chalmers Robotics is once again arranging the event Midsummer Madness where we get toghether on the Swedish midsummer to eat food, and team up to build some awesome creations.
The goal of this years mission is to sink a ship.

We will bring some food and later split the costs.
Here’s a Google Drive document so we know who will bring what https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1z-N9YYhqJSctJNpYXIelulr_B3fC-r3hCWr0IigOmkA/edit?usp=sharing.

The event starts at 14.

The vehicle is charging a 6S 8Ah LiPo with 600W solar panels. The Lipo is powering a UPS that is switching up the voltage to 230V that is powering the PA-system.

Because the solar regulator is designed for lead-acid battery’s  over-voltage is a big issue. Ordinary LiPo-checkers don’t check for over-voltage, so we had to design our own out of a IntroARM.
